1) Besides photography Melanie Burford used her skill of giving in to the people she was taken photos of. She had let them trust her and bring her in, and actually took the time to take the photos and wasnt just an overnight experience. She was there for every kind of emotion that occured for this family. She also used all of the multimedia effects, besides just putting pictures in a slide.
2) The multimedia effects would be the singer in the backround. The effect of having the singer in the backround set the tone of the whole slideshow itself. It brought the power just for you to kind of just sit there & actually pay attention to what the story is trying to bring out. Also the song itself that the singer is singing, the words that she's saying gives you that tone. Tone of clarity. Also all the other things she included besides the slideshow like the backround, maps of the house, etc kind of lets you more inside the story.
3) I think the ones with the most interesting to me was the map, and the video from the pastor. To read where everything takes place, and to understand the living conditions of everyone really does put that point that Melanie Burford was trying to get across.
The video of the pastor just gives you that little piece of hope. For one man to come and try to change things in the area makes you realize that it really is just ONE man who is trying to do it all, and who pretty much has the hopes of Sugar Hill in his hand, and his hands only.
