In my opinion, i dont think its that ethical to change a persons appearance. If they are a model, it should be for what makes them a model, or in that case everyone can really be one. The way they change things to make it look better. But then again, im kind of in the middle about it because of the fact of what exactly they can change. They did change a lot about the girl, but it still was her.
Under what circumstances is it worse than others? I think its worse than others, when the point of the photo is being changed from what its point is from the beginning. When they add and or delete stuff to try and make a different point.
What types of changes are ok, and what aren't? When fixing a little blemish on a person i think thats okay, when clearing up some of the photo thats okay, i think when changing or deleting something and creating it the way it should be to make it look better is not okay.
Explain what you think the differences are between fashion photography and photojournalism. What relationship does each have to reality, and how does this affect the ethics of each.
The differences between fashion photography and photojournalism is the fashion industry is mainly trying to sell the product, when photojournalism is trying to sell the event & the story of the photo. In reality everyone knows the models never really look like that in person, but in photojournalism it has a major living affect of how people see the world. The ethics of these change because many photos in the fashion photography change to improve the photo.

Photo manipulation 2

1. I think this photo is most unethical just because it doesnt show reality of the photo. It shows that this was a planned out photo, and someone arranged it to be the way they wanted everyone to see it.
The oprah one i believe is also unethical. For a women who portrays such pride in herself she shouldnt be ashamed of what she looks like, and should publish the real her.

2. This one i think is least unethical, because of the fact that it's not changing the point that is trying to be made, or get acrossed. The little bar in the backround wasn't telling the story, the people and the tragic was what really mattered, so I think this one is least ethical.

Photo Manipulation
1. The University of Wisconsin-Madison decided they needed to insert something to their photo, an african american face. In doing so, it caused many different problems within the school board. Many argued the reason for doing so was to show the diverse the University had to offer, others say it should have been a natural case. "...get another picture," said Barrows.
2. I think the University of Wisconsin-Madison was wrong for inserting a black persons face. If you wanted to show the diversity the school had to offer, they're are different ways of doing so, without causing any kind of problems. I think the photo of showing diversity should have been a more natural picture. Adding a different races face to show something to the audience isn't acceptable, don't plan diversity let it happen.
